The idea for BHKB emerged from our own experience when our daughter was in Class 10 and standing at the crossroads of important academic and career decisions. Like many parents, we wanted to help her choose a path that would bring both fulfilment and success. But unlike many families, we never opted for traditional psychometric tests. We felt that no set of multiple-choice questions could fully capture who she was as a person.
Instead, we started having conversations.
We spoke about the kind of life she envisioned for herself. We discussed what excited her, what she enjoyed doing for long periods of time, which subjects she naturally gravitated towards, and what gave her a sense of purpose. She loved reading, for example, but did that necessarily mean a career connected to English or literature? Not always. The answer required deeper exploration.
Like most students, she knew only a handful of careers by name. She had little visibility into what people in those careers actually did, what their daily lives looked like, what challenges they faced, or what opportunities they offered. Through conversations, we were able to share information, challenge assumptions, answer questions, and help her gradually connect her interests, strengths, values, and aspirations. Those conversations made all the difference.
They helped her gain clarity—not in a single moment, but through a process of reflection and discovery. More importantly, they helped her make decisions with confidence because they were rooted in a deeper understanding of herself. That experience led us to a realization.
Every child deserves these conversations. But not every parent is equipped with the right questions to ask, nor does every family have access to the information needed to guide such discussions. So we asked ourselves: What if every student could have an intelligent conversation partner that patiently listened, asked thoughtful questions, understood them deeply, and then connected that understanding to the world of careers?
The answer became BHKB.
We built a conversation-first AI platform designed to understand the student before recommending a career. Instead of starting with careers, we start with the child. Once that understanding is established, everything else begins to fall into place. Because the best career decisions don't start with a test.
